If you don’t know what you want, you end up with a lot you don’t.

The best thing about dreams is that one fleeting moment, when you are between asleep and awake, when you don’t know the difference between reality and fantasy, when for just that one moment, you feel with your entire soul that the dream is reality, and it really happened.

It’s the magic of risking everything, for a dream nobody sees but you.

It just seems like, you agree to have a certain personality or something. For no reason. Just to make things easier for everyone. But when you think about it, I mean, how do you know it’s even you?

We lead our lives like water flowing down a hill, going more or less in one direction until we splash into something that forces us to find a new course.

There are many reasons why novelists write – but they all have one thing in common: a need to create an alternative world.

We all need something we consider worth getting up in the morning for. Whether it’s real or not; healthy or destructive; tangible or false is irrelevant… when you’ve got nothing to hang onto, deception can seem pretty inviting.

Just don’t give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don’t think you can go wrong.

Sometimes pain becomes such a huge part of your life that you expect it to always be there. Because you can’t remember a time in your life when it wasn’t but then one day you feel something else. something that feels wrong, only because its so unfamiliar. then in that moment you realize you’re happy.

Time changes everything. That’s what people say. It’s not true. Doing things changes things. Not doing things leaves them exactly as they were.

Life becomes bearable only when one has come to terms with who one is, both in one’s own eyes and in the eyes of the world. We all of us must come to terms with what and who we are, and recognize that this wisdom is not going to earn us any praise, that life is not going to pin a medal on us for recognizing and enduring our own vanity or egoism or baldness or our pot-belly. No, the secret is that there’s no reward and we have to endure our characters and our natures as best as we can, because no amount of experience or insight is going to rectify our deficiencies, or our self-regard.

Many of our fears are tissue paper thin, and a single courageous step would carry us clear through them.

All I’d ever wanted was to forget. But even when I thought I had, pieces had kept emerging, like bits of wood floating up to the surface that only hint at the shipwreck below.

You just have to focus on things that never change. Like the stars. Those are always the same stars, man. In a hundred years no ones going to have a clue who we were, but they’ll know those same stars.

Did you ever wonder if the person in the puddle is real, and you’re just a reflection of him?

We don’t always get to choose the truths God reveals to us–But we do get to choose what we do with that truth–Whom we share it with and how.

It’s hard to think about growing up when you’re right in the middle of doing it. It’s hard to know what you want. Sometimes there are so many voices in your head it’s difficult to know which of them is yours.

I have tried to live my life so that my family would love me and my friends would respect me. The others, they can do whatever the hell they please.

Until a person takes responsibility for where he is, there is no basis for moving on. The bad news is that the past was in your hands, but the good news is that the future, my friend, is also in your hands.

Be Brave. Even if you’re not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference.

We lose friends, we gain friends and along the road we find ourselves.

The trouble is, humans have a knack for choosing precisely those things that are worst for them.

She once saw a game show where a man stood in a plexiglass box, and dollar bills swirled around him in a miniature tornado, and thought, Life is like that: you can keep whatever you can catch, but it’s all whipping past your head so fast, and how were you supposed to tell which were the big bills and which were the small? How could one train for such an infuriatingly stupid challenge? How could anybody catch all the beauty in the present moment, when, after years of misery, there was suddenly a day when all the wonderfulness of life unexpectedly blew down from all directions at once? And how were you supposed to store joy, for the ugly days when the bleakness returns?

It is easy to forget how perfectly life works out. When you are down, you believe that things never work in your favor. But if you look back, you see that, in many cases, things happened exactly the way they needed to.

It’s sad when someone you know becomes someone you knew.

Life was meant to be lived, and curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life.

Losers aren’t the people who don’t win, losers are people who are so afraid of not winning, they don’t even try.
