You have only one life to do whatever you want with. In one hundred years no one will remember the stupid mistakes you made, so make a fool of yourself while you still have the chance because if you spend all your life trying to be the coolest kid around you will never be happy with yourself.
I love the feeling after a good run. Or the feeling when my favorite song is on full blast in the car, driving through the country air. I like when my mom makes my favorite meal. I like traveling to nowhere, getting lost, and then the best part, being found. I like being held by someone who means a lot to me, especially when I haven't seen them in awhile. We always complain there isn't enough time. Or that these moments never come around enough. It's true that we never stop growing old, and we mature faster than we'd like. But time is the essence of life, and it brings change and surprise. I like watching the people I care for get older, change, become who they're suppose to be. Sometimes we all wish to go back, to repeat a moment, or pause it forever. But we need change, even when we don't want it. The cards are placed and time brings us closer to our destination. All the while as we travel through.. the things we love doing, the people we share our life with, that's the destiny. We're not suppose to end up anywhere, we're suppose to make the best of this journey.
I'd like to tell today's youth that no matter where life takes you - big cities, small towns - you'll inevitably come across small minds. People who think that they're better than you are. People who think that material things, or being pretty or popular, automatically make you a worthwhile human being. I'd like to tell today's youth that none of these things matter unless you have a strength of character, integrity, and a sense of pride. And if you are even lucky to have any of these things, don't ever sell them. Don't ever sell out. When you meet a person for the first time, please don't judge them by their station in life. Because who knows, that person just might end up being your best friend.
You know that point in your life when you realize the house you grew up in isn't really your home anymore? All of a sudden even though you have some place where you put your shit, that idea of home is gone. You'll see one day when you move out it just sort of happens one day and it's gone. You feel like you can never get it back. It's like you feel homesick for a place that doesn't even exist. Maybe it's like this rite of passage, you know. You won't ever have this feeling again until you create a new idea of home for yourself, you know, for your kids, for the family you start, it's like a cycle or something. I don't know, but I miss the idea of it, you know. Maybe that's all family really is. A group of people that miss the same imaginary place.
I want to change but I don't know how. I have this shell around me and I always want to be inside of it. I need to break out.
Find a great song, whether it's disco, or pop or punk, or whatever. just turn up your stereo as high as it goes and dance. and if you have to, keep dancing until you lose yourself, or until you find yourself again.
The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don't define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them.
I really enjoy spending time with you, even if we’re just going to be sitting around and talking about nothing. There are a million things I love about you, like your nose or the way you smile, the way you look me in the eye, too. And I just get the greatest feeling when I make you laugh. I feel as if my company makes you happy, and that’s what I wish for you. For you to be happy. And when I see you laugh at my clumsy ways, it just makes me want to spend the rest of my life with you so I can see a smile on your face.
Happiness is always a by-product. It is probably a matter of temperament, and for anything I know it may be glandular. But it is not something that can be demanded from life, and if you are not happy you had better stop worrying about it and see what treasures you can pluck from your own brand of unhappiness.
I think everything in life is art. What you do, how you dress, the way you love someone and how you talk. Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea, how you decorate your home, or party. Your grocery list, the food you make, how your writing looks, and the way you feel. Life is art.
Music is powerful. And you know why? Because no matter how you're feeling, there's always a song out there with that one lyric that describes exactly how you're feeling. And it's amazing when you hear that lyric for the first time because it explains everything. Music is there for you when you can't find the words on your own.
Maybe that’s just growing up. When you’re young, you tell yourself things like "Well, if it didn’t work out, it wasn’t meant to be" as if that actually meant something, just because it sounds like it does. I think you can say something like that so blithely because you expect to stumble onto something else just as wonderful just around the next bend in the road. But people are rare perfect unique things, and just because everyone really does live a life full of farewells doesn’t mean you shouldn’t at least realize what it really means to say goodbye to something that meant everything. Just because you will survive and get over it doesn’t mean you should let it go.
Most of our life is a series of images, they pass us by like towns on the highway. But sometimes a moment stuns us as it happens, and we know that this instant is more than a fleeting image. We know that this moment, every part of it, will live on forever.
I've finally found someone who believes I'm perfect just the way I am, even though I have many flaws. I've finally found someone who is willing to take it slow, just for me. I've finally found someone who will wipe my tears away, and will listen to my hurt. I've found someone who is caring, thoughtful, and absolutely loving. Someone who sees something in me, even after he's seen me at my worst.
Challenges make life interesting, however, overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.
