FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER FOR MORE QUOTES Spend life with who makes you happy, not who you have to impress. We are all meant to shine as children do. Its not just in some of us; its in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously allow other people to do the same. Have you ever had someone who just made you feel like you were on painkillers? Just calm, happy, stress free? A subtle kind of fireworks in the brain and body, the perfect afternoon nap? To be still, to have no desire for anything. It's so nice, it's so unfamiliar. If one advances confidently in the direction of one's dreams, and endeavors to live the life which one has imagined, one will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. Learn four new things every day: something about yourself, something about the people you love, something about the world and something about a stranger. It's not what you do once in a while, it's what you do day in and day out that makes the difference. I will never regret you or say that I wish I'd never met you, because once upon a time you were exactly what I needed. Home is not where you live, but where they understand you. I think happiness comes from self-acceptance. We all try different things, and we find some comfortable sense of who we are. We look at our parents and learn and grow and move on. We change. You don't choose who you fall in love with, you just fall. And you get this person who is all wrong, but yet so right all at the same time. You know that you love them so much, except sometimes they just drive you completely insane and no one can explain it. The reason it's so confusing is because it is love, but if you didn't have any challenges... what would be the point? I want to be all that I am capable of becoming. To live in this world you must be able to do three things: to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go. I’ve always found people love you best if you can laugh at your own foolish misfortunes and keep mum about everyone else’s. I want a life that sizzles and pops and makes me laugh out loud. And I don't want to get to the end, or to tomorrow, even, and realize that my life is a collection of meetings and pop cans and errands and receipts and dirty dishes. I want to eat cold tangerines and sing out loud in the car with the windows open and wear pink shoes and stay up all night laughing and paint my walls the exact color of the sky right now. I want to sleep hard on clean white sheets and throw parties and eat ripe tomatoes and read books so good they make me jump up and down, and I want my everyday to make God belly laugh, glad that he gave life to someone who loves the gift. Remember when you were a kid and your biggest worry was like, if you’d get a bike for your birthday or if you’d get to eat cookies for breakfast. Being an adult? Totally overrated. I mean seriously, don’t be fooled by all the hot shoes and the great sex and the no parents anymore telling you what to do. Adulthood is responsibility. No matter what I say, what I believe or what I do, I'm bankrupt without love. Life is not so much about beginnings and endings as it is about going on and on and on. It is about muddling through the middle. You can try and hold me back. Build your damn walls, pack sandbags along the edges and yell at the clouds and the rain and the sky to stop. But I will not relent. I will reach you. Because I am the sea. And I will continue to love you no matter what. We need not be afraid to touch, to feel, to show emotion. The easiest thing in the world is to be what you are, what you feel. The hardest thing to be is what other people want you to be.
