Lucky I’m in love with my best friend.
People fear death more than pain. It’s strange that they fear death. Life hurts a lot more than death. At the point of death, the pain is over.
Story of my life: I am so self-destructive, I turn solutions into problems. Everything I touch, I ruin. I’m Midas in reverse.
So this is how it is. The innocent suffer, the guilty go free, and truth and fiction are pretty much interchangeable. …There is neither a Santa Claus, nor an Easter Bunny, and there no angels watching over us. Things just happen for no reason, and nothing makes any sense.
We cannot be free men if this is, by our national crisis, to be a land of slavery. Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.
Life, it turns out, goes on. There is no cosmic rule that grants you immunity from the details just because you have come face-to-face with a catastrophe.
People are always gonna talk and to tell you the truth, I love it. I love the attention. I do what I do because it puts a smile on my face. And I’m the only person in the world that matters.
Life can be wildly tragic at times, and I’ve had my share. But whatever happens to you, you have to keep a slightly comic attitude. In the final analysis, you must not forget to laugh.
And even if its killing you, you gotta keep your head up, because there are so many people that would die just to see you fall.
Peyton: I thought they were just rumors?
Anna: Well you know how high school is. Once the story gets out, it might as well be true.I watch the rain stream down the windows in the dark. It gives me a feeling that the whole world is taking a moment to be sad.
No matter how old you are, it’s hard not to get excited when snow starts to fall. Because, so long as it keeps coming, no one can make you go anywhere or do anything. All life’s rules are suspended.
Success is the ability to go from one failure to another With no loss of enthusiasm.
Everytime I shot back with ,” What’s wrong with living in a dream world?” she’d say, ” you have to wake up”
It’s pathetic, how we can’t live with the things we can’t understand. How if we can’t explain something we’ll just deny it.
Tragedy blows through your life like a tornado, uprooting everything, creating chaos. You wait for the dust to settle, and then you choose. You can live in the wreckage and pretend it’s still the mansion you remember. Or you can crawl from the rubble and slowly rebuild. Because after disaster strikes, the important thing is that you move on. But if you’re like me, you just keep chasing the storm.
But I feel like a lot of life is distasteful and embarrassing. And you just push through it. You fix what you can, and you let time pass.
Michelangelo said the best way to judge the essential elements of a sculpture is to throw it down a hill and the unimportant pieces will break away. Sometimes life is like that. It tosses us down a hill. But when we reach the bottom and only the important things are left, that’s when our vision clears. That’s when we hold on tight to what we know, while hope stirs inside us. It’s all a matter of perspective.
Sometimes, I wish I could walk around with a HANDLE WITH CARE sign stuck to my forehead.
